Hello,
I recently brought home a 2182 SGT and I would like to find a blower or blade but I am having difficulties figuring out what model blower or blade will fit the SGT. I have no preference on blower vs. blade, but I do think the power angle blade would be pretty cool. Can anyone point me in the right direction on what I will need ot look for to fit the SGT? THANKS! |

partstree.com is a great place to find out part numbers. You'd have to be pretty desperate to actually buy parts from them though.

If a blower from a 982 would work, I know where a 46H blower is in MN, and it's for sale.

I would say get a blower as you can only push snow so far where as you can always blow it higher. I have both prefer the blower but then again if you want to push dirt in the summer the blade is the way to go. I guess you will have to get one of each. haha |

Another thing to keep in mind is that a wet snow will pack in a blower, even a two-stage blower, whereas the blade will still push both powdery and wet snow!!

You know, we get some real 'wet cement' snows here, and I've never had this problem, even with a single stage. That same snow will, however, pack and pile 20' in front of a blade...

i have 4 wheelers with plows, a 2165 with a 2stage blower and my 1650 with the qa42a single stage. and for wet snow the only one i would pick is the 1650 with the single stage. ive never had it plug up. theres not gaps in the auger to hold snow unlike a 2 stage. they might not throw that wet snow far but it beats shoveling thats for sure

Well my experience from this past winter was my single stage 42A got clogged up with wet snow when I ran it full throttle on my 123, while my blade plowed right through on my 73 and my cub cadet 268 two-stage snow blower managed well, though.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
