Default Done deal (almost)

After a few trips to the outfit that sells Hydraulics and orders from the Surplus Store, the bugger is done. I ordered the hydraulic coupling to replace the ones on the tractor because it was an oddball size and no one carried them. Finally found one designed to mount on the metal plate on front of the machine. Safeway S41-2P is the male and S45-2P is the female. It will take 4 one inch C-clips to mount the receptacle onto the plate. Good thing we have not had enough snow to plow.

Looks good, as soon as I find a 2 spool valve that doesn't cost an arm and a leg I will be doing this to my plow.

2 spools 1 with float, are not cheap. this is a Valve 2 Spool Loader P40 Chief 220956. Cost about $150. I used this on my plow mod. and it works great. One for power angle and the float for up and down. I will post the plow and hydraulic mod. soon.

Find a 2 spool on a John Deere 300 or 317 type tractor. The valve is small and can be used in place of the original Cub valve. One side of the valve has the "float" capability. This valve is plentiful and can be had for a reasonable price. I know where there are several JD parts tractors.

Seems like a good trade off. I can put five Cubs where one car sat and there are no titles or license to fool with!

I'm actually looking for an JD h3 valve so I can have independent rear lift.

Looks great, and glad to see the finished project. You will like being able to change the blade angle without getting off the tractor.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
