QA36A Snowthrower Loose Chute
Used my snow thrower today and it amazed me as to how well it handled 18 to 20" of snow. Having a problem as the chute will not stay in the direction that I start with. I tried tightening the bolts where it joins the thrower but then it wants to bind at some places as you turn it. Any advise as to where to look will be appreciated. Sorry, no pictures but it sure threw the snow. Cleared my steep driveway and two neighbors driveways. Have a safe and great day.

Ya they do that,you can try putting another washer on the spring of the shaft to add more pressure.
I also added a fiber washer for more friction. The best thing that works for me was wrapping a rubber tie down strap twice around the handle shaft, and hooking it to the frame for added friction. It's Mickey Mouse but is cheap and easy.

Same issue on my QA36. I was holding a rubber tie down in my hand before the last storm to do exactly what George said, but I was in a hurry and just kept fiddling with the chute control the whole time. If I had 3 arms it wouldn't be an issue.
