I meant what kind of crimper. That size of wire and connector requires a heavier duty crimper than I have.

Ya, you need a special crimper the size of lopers. If the automotive places let you down, I would try an electrical supply store or a welding supply store, they should have everything to make the cables.

The last one's I did I slid shrink tube up the wire then soldered the ends on and took a chisel and hammer to "crimp". Slid the shrink tube down, done deal...
I ain't buying a crimp tool for the little bit I would use it. Just to make sure everything was tight, put one end in the vise and visegrip on the other and pulled, going nowhere...

The motorhome I pulled the engine out of yesterday has batt cables ran from one end to the other and back again. So I will be stripping it all out and saving it to build new cables. Harbor Freight has a nice ratcheting crimper for around 10$. I bought one and its built better than alot of their other stuff. If need be I can post a pic. Hammer and punch/dull chisell will work just as well as long as your not too heavy handed.

Found a place that has both pre-made cables to fit our applications and they have a hydraulic crimper that isn't too high priced. I think I'll just order some cables for now, after I have verified the length and hole size for my 982.
Pos battery cable Neg battery cable

I think your making this way more complicated than necessary.
It's just cable and wire ends. Sold anywhere where parts are sold. If you don't have a crimper, like the guys said, pliers, vice, hammer and punch.... shoot, most NAPA stores will make them for you if necessary. Plus, if all else fails, most all are still available from CCC.

When I make battery cables I just go to the local stereo shop and buy the heavy guage wire by the foot, they also have the proper ends there as well.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
