Default Bike Lift to Cub Cadet Lift ( Pictures )

Here is an idea I came up with to lift my Lawn Mowers up to work on so I don't have to get on my knees to change oil and work on them,
it is getting hard at 69 & 1/2 years old to get up and down to work on 5 riding mowers. so here is what I came up with, I got the lift for $ 300.oo Bucks a few years ago, and it works good for a work bench to..

Hi Olds 45512 :
It is only 7 foot 3 inch's long By 44 inch's wide'
And it is easy to move around in the shop,
And makes a good work bench, Because you can put what your working on
where you want it,

Very nice. The using jacks and jack stands get's old fast at our age. I like how you added a stabilizer to the screw jacks, good idea. Not sure it would handle the heavier stuff like a Super so be careful.

Hi Sam Mac : What is a super ? it will lift 1000 Lbs.
And I'm going to put a Stabilizer on the back also, just didn't get there yet.
I do wish it was a air assist jack Because I can't get my Dog to Jack it up with his foot, I have to do it, LOL
They make them with Air Assist, for about $ 500.oo Bucks

Chief

Looks really nice!... do you have any pictures of what you used or how you extended the sides? I've been tempted to get one of these for my dad.. He has you beat by 10 years but still likes to tinker with his cubs.. I'm 44 and am finding it harder to get up and down than it was just a few years ago!!

The Supers are bigger frame Cub Cadets and a bit heavier than the smaller ones..

Sam, do you know what a 1782 or 2182 with a Haban weighs??

Here is how I extended the table, I welded some square tube on the bottom of the table and bolted some 1/8 X 1 & 3/4 angle iron in it,
when I first did it I had it so I could remove the sides easy,
You could just drill some 1/2 inch holes and bolt some angle iron on the bottom,

And as you can see I extended the lift arm and I'm going to do the same with the release lever.

OH and takes about 80 Pumps to bring it all the way up,
SO : Jatnjeep be nice to you father and get him an Air Lift one, LOL
Oh and I guess you drive a Jeep. here is a picture of mine,

Jay the Cub lit says 1139 LBS with a 60" deck. My guess is the 2182 I sold you weighs at least 1300 LBS with the loaded Tru Powers and the extra steel on the deck and the braces.

The lift I use can be seen in this thread.

Cubcrazy found these bargains a couple years ago and it's been a back saver.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
