Thanks, It is the carb causing it to flood. When I removed the air filter the carb and intake were full of gas and also one of the cylinders. I will let you know tomorrow when I finish it up and get it started.

Had a little time to work on the carb swap for the Mag 18 today. Changed the oil, finished the Kohler carb install and fired it up, after a warmup I readjusted both the high and low speed mixtures and It runs better than it ever did with the Walbro carb. Very smooth even idle, I can idle it down lower than any other mag 18 I have ever had and when throttling it up to wot no stumble or hesitation at all. It is hard to believe this is the same engine that I started with. I will never use a Walbro carb again on a KT or Mag engine. The Kohler carb I used came off of a K series single cylinder engine and I had to change the throttle and choke shaft to use it on the Mag engine. I used the shafts from the Walbro carb and they fit with just some minor slotting of the screw holes in the choke plate. Now maybe I can finally finish up the sickle bar install.
Later

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
