Angry help with 60" mmm deck belt troubles

I have a low hour(17 hrs) cub cadet 7254 tractor with a model #291 60" mower deck. The mower deck has broken two(2) idler pulley tension springs and constantly throws the belt off the deck. I cannot even get 10 minutes of mowing in before either the belt throws or it breaks the spring. Is there an engineered solution for this as my research show that this is a prevalent issue. Some mention was made of a upgrade to the belt tension system via the addition of a 2nd idler pulley. What are the part numbers for the kit ? Where can I obtain this kit ? Is it available for my mower deck? If not what would be a solution to my issues.

thank you,

craig

I've not heard anyone here mention owning a compact, maybe someone will have your answer but this is mostly GTs.

17 hours??????????? New? Take it back. Warranty?

You should not have to fix, upgrade, or re-engineer something brand new.

I'd beat up on the dealer for a fix with only 17 hours. Or beating up on Cub Cadet/MTD. Call their 800 or email them and raise cane. A fellow on another forum had alot of probs with a 7000 series. Broken welds on FEL that was lightly used ect. He gave em' **** and they fixed it but had so many issues he dumped it for a green one. I doubt he'll ever be back. Dang shame. That's something these companies just don't get. Big reason for probs with auto industry is the same attitude towards the customer. There are 2 of the big three that will never see another dime from me. I haven't owned a new car from the third. It's bad enough to sell problems, It's far worse to ignore the customer who has them. Seems the boardrooms don't seem to get it that the money comes from customers. Keep 'em happy you get more money. Pretty simple concept.
Sorry about the rant That's all I know about your tractor. I hope you get it straightened out. Maybe someone here has that tracter. Most here have garden tractors not compacts. Keep searching there are other tractor forums that may be more help as they cater more to your tractor size. That doesn't mean we're chasing you off just want you to get the help you need. Your welocome here anytime.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
