![]() 16 months old, 36 hours, top bearing on the spindle is out. Haven't abused it, did grease it. When I took it to the local dealer, he said that they may warranty it and may not. They'd have to take it apart and see if there was grease in it. Make sense? By the way, it's a 1046. Also, if they don't warranty it, can you replace the top bearing only or do you have to buy the whole assembly? One more question please. Anyone know the belt length that drives the blades? Tractor Supply has their own brand kevlar belts for about half what the CC belts are. I'm thinking 103". Thanks, Murph ![]() ![]() |

Don't waste your money on the TSC/hardware Belts. they will not hold up except for like a little fractional H.P application.
Either buy genuine OEM or Goodyear insta-power, if you have a non stock application. They are the only ones that will hold up long term, and made for lawn/garden applications. BTDT |

Or Gates green belts, but they're just as expensive (if not more expensive) than CC belts.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
