Default It's fixed!
The "new" PTO switch that the previous owner put in was just a random switch pulled off of something else and wired in independently. The wiring itself was pieced together to extend the wiring. We had at first thought that there were multiple repairs, now I think he was just too cheap to buy new wiring and just pieced together multiple shorter wires.

After looking at your diagram we decided the original PTO switch was essential untouched, just unplugged at the adapter. We completely removed the the new one. But, that did not fix the problem. The blades still engaged just as the mowed cut out. It seamed like it was a safety mechanism activating.

So we looked at the seat safety switch to figure out what he had done to that - he really just chopped off the adapter at one end. We put that back together and the mower works fine with basically all of its original part put back together.

Sorry, I posted this Am but it's not showing up. Anyway - its working again. We hooked up the original PTO switch, removed the mess of a replacement switch. That left us with the blades engaging but the mower immediately cutting out. Next we reconnected the seat safety switch. After that it up and running.

We are essentially back to square one. The mower starts slowing down after we have been mowing awhile. If we turn it off and let it sit a few min it's fine. But my guess is if we don't fix it, the same thing is going to happen. Fortunately the you tube videos and tutorials all make more sense now that everything is where it's supposed to be.
