Are you talking dirt plowing or snow plowing?

I prefer the all-gear drive's to the hydro drive units. Hyd. lift is not an issue for me, however is really nice. I'd also restore the 124 first, then the 1250. It's your call, both are great tractors!

124. Motor bolts directly to frame. Don't have to worry about stripped threads in the oil pan and ISO mounts and cradle mods that you likely will on the 1250. I had a 1250 once and liked the looks of it but parted ways with it for the aforementioned reasons. I have a 1450 in the shop now in need of an engine, only reason I'm really entertaining messing with it is because it has hydraulic lift. 124 is a great tractor/series, especially if it has cool options

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
