That does suck! It happened to me more than once. Thats why if I find a very good deal, I will drive to look at it that day. Money talks and walks. Dont dwell on it. Because it will eat you alive! Off to buy another!

I've had that happen before and it really BURNS MY TOAST!

I think that is one of the problems with the world today, no ones word means anything any more.

That happend to me with a $500 work van one time, I told the fellow I only had $400, But he had to $500 so I passed. A week later he called the shop and tells me he would take $400. So now I'm a little PO'ed and said I spent $100 can you take $300.

I drove that old dodge for four years and never put a dime in it then sold it for $500.
So don't lose hope yet!

Very true, and this goes both ways, too. I can't begin to think about how many (probably about 80%) of the people I dealt with while trying to sell stuff on craigslist acted. They call and say they're very serious, waste my time setting up a time for them to come look at it, and then they vanish from the face of the earth. I don't believe in holding stuff for people...all it does is waste my time and then I wind up with an unsold item after I turn away the handful of people that contact me later while I'm waiting for the first guy to disappear. First guy to hand me the money gets it. If someone calls me on a Tuesday and wants to see it on Saturday, I tell him to call back Friday night to make sure I still have it...

that's just ridiculous. One more thing I love about living up here in northern VT, I found a #1 tiller with guard, belt, gearbox and it's in great shape but I'm short on $$ till next Tuesday. So he calls me and I ask him if I can give him $100 today and the rest next tuesday and he says no problem:biggrin2.gif:. Will be meeting him tomorrow to see it and give 1/3 of what I have to pay, then pick it up tuesday. He could have easily said no, or not replied but folk up here are STILL considerate of each other

I'm glad it's working out for you. When I found my 123 w/#1 tiller, I corresponded with the owner and he was eventually comfortable with hanging on to the tractor until I could get there to pick it up. He held it for TWO MONTHS!!! There ARE good people around, and it's nice when we can meet each other!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
