Good Luck! Takes guts to do what you did. Most people are CLUELESS when it comes to working for a small company for that long (small meaning under 30 people). I've completed 26 years for my employer, you'd think I was 75 when I start telling some of the tales of long ago to the "kids" at work. I had a full head of hair and no gray...

I said I didn't line up another job to extort money out of you. I've already made up my mind and the ball is rolling. I did say I would help out as much as I could during the time I'm still here.

Then I left the office and went back to work.

The shop where I'm going has been in business since the 1965, is very well managed and most employees have been there for decades. I will be in line for the supervisor position when he retires.

Good money, I'll start with three weeks vacation and as an added bonus, it's an air conditioned shop.

I can't wait.

Good for you Jeff. As long as you still make us parts.

Great news for you Jeff, your old boss, not so much.

I'm pretty sure they can hire a millennial to replace you. He or she will want to start out at what you are being paid now even though they don't know how to read a dial indicator. Oh, and sometimes their alarm doesn't go off and they over sleep until mom wakes them up.

Good luck on the new job and enjoy the A/C this summer.

Congratz! Feel bad for your current employer tho. I understand what its like to lose a good employee when you did all you could for them.

Air conditioned shop is nice tho!

Congratulations Jeff!! You don't seem like the fella to do things in haste, so I know a lot of thought weighed in on your decision to make this move. Of course AC makes a giant difference! Every great adventure starts with careful consideration and nervousness. Best wishes on your new position and your future!

Man that's the truth. We've burned through at least ten of them at my branch alone. And to add to that Todd the tech schools they come from promise them jobs at places like BMW, Mercedes, etc. making 80 grand a year right out of the gate......ugg

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
