WOW!! That thing is clean!! 2284's don't grow on trees around here.. I would say a 2284 or a 2182 is king of the hill for the cyclops series.. hard to say.. But I will say you sure did bring home a nice tractor!! I'm jealous cause I don't have a 2284!

My wife and I were just riding by this neighborhood. This guy had a couple of push mowers, the CC and something else sitting out there for sale. I didn't say anything but just rode on around the block and pulled back in his driveway. Before the truck rolled to a stop, my wife was already bidding on the damn thing. I told her she was too cheap and I further told her that I wasn't going to pay what the guy wanted for it but I wanted to just check. She insisted that I go ahead and buy it, whatever it cost. I continued to resist doing anything rash. Anyway, turns out the guy had two very large flat screen TV's for sale as well. I was in the market for two. One for the screened in porch and one for my garage. Wife is jerking on my sleeve wanting to know what he wants for the Cub. I tell her. She says "buy it" and I'll pay for it. That can be your 50th wedding anniversary present from me to you. I tell her it's not worth that much to me to buy it but she insists. Long story short, I left this guy's house with the CC and two flat screen TV's. ![]() I feel blessed with a wife like that. I know some of you guys have to check with HER first before you buy something. |

She has been for 50 years. First time I saw her was over the top of about 30 guys that had her and her friend surrounded at the drive-in after she just won a drag race with her GTO against a a guy in the crowd with a 442. As I pushed my way to the front, I told my buddy, "I'm going to marry that woman" and I did.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
