While letting the frame dry and the paint to harden up, I decided to paint the bottom of the white parts outside. I figured any bugs wouldn't matter as it wouldn't be seen.

I got lucky and no bugs:

Hopefully tomorrow night we move the frame out of the booth and I can finish painting all the yellow.

Nice work, I can't wait to see the finished tractor!

You're killing me! I just got my hydro stripped and ready for primer. I have lots of work to go on the pedestal, hood and front end body parts. Yours looks great! I doubt mine will turn out so nice. At the pace I'm going, I'm not sure I'm going to get the paint on before winter sets in.

Sorry thenrie, I'm not trying to make you feel bad.

I decided to do some white tonight:

I did encounter a problem on the hood. It was like it has oil on it. I had the same problem on one of the yellow pieces and after it dried, I sanded it and repainted it and it came out fine. I guess I'll redo the hood when I do the front end:

Oh well, tomorrow I'm reshooting the yellow pieces that ran and I'm going to dust the fender pan again as there are a couple of dark spots.

Tell me about the 4" high-speed deck pulley. I will be rebuilding my deck next. Do you have a part number for the pulley and does it take a different belt?

Your parts look great. Doesn't look like I'm going to get paint on mine this year, unless we have a warm spell that coincides with spare time for me. My shop isn't heated.

That oil spot on your hood could be from fingerprints or left-over oil on the part, or it could be that your compressor is putting a little compressor oil in your air hose. Do you have a filter mounted on your paint gun? I mount a filter on my air hose and hang it from my belt, and run a smaller diameter coiled air hose from there to my paint gun, which has a water trap filter in-line where it attaches to the gun. Keeps water and any other contaminant out of the paint gun.

That sounds like what I need. What type of filter is it? Sounds like a good set up.

thenrie, thanks for the compliments. I have put a ton of work into, I'm glad they have come out the way they did.

As far as oil or fingerprints, it's possible but I wiped down everything twice with mineral spirits prior to painting, but I'm obviously no expert.

I have a water separator about 3 ft. off the compressor and a small separator and desiccant drier right at the gun:

I wet sanded and primed the hood today so it's ready to repaint, but I have to wait for the fender pan to dry as I reshot it yesterday to get rid of a few dark spots I had:

I wish the bottom of the battery tray didn't look so bad.

I also reshot all the yellow that had runs and after I had everything cleaned up, I saw the tie-rods that I haven't painted yet. Oh well!!

Even though I planned on waiting a month before assembly, I couldn't help myself to mock things up a bit:

Got to head out of town for a couple of days, so I'm done for a while.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
