Default 1200 teardown
I was feeling so good about the 14hp rebuild, that I decided to tear down the 12hp. I found the same thing I did on the 14, A LOT of carbon build up and the cylinder walls were as smooth as a babies butt. I didn't get a chance to measure the wall yet, so I don't know how it's gonna be. I'm gonna wait till I can get it over to dads' shop to really tear into it. When I cleaned the cylinder top, I noticed that it was a stock piston, there was a hole in the center. not an accidental hole, one that looks like it belongs there and I also found this number on top: 255802 or235802. I've never seen a piston (car, motorcycle, lawnmower) with a hole in it like that. why is it there, does it have a purpose?

I'm not sure why that's there...might be some sort of center for machining operations during the manufacture of the part, but I've seen that on many pistons.

Well, I have to admit, I have seen the inside of 5 Kohlers and rebuilt just one and seen my share of other B/S motors. I never have I seen one with that and it through me for a loop. I knew I would get my answer on here. I thought it might be for the nitrous to explode!!!! lol. Thanks Matt, I know i can always count on you, not to mention the others on here.
