109 Making Ugly Noise! Help!
Hi gang. Looking for some advice on my 109. She runs well, but within the last year or so, noticed when shutting down the engine sometimes, I would hear a bit of a whine or growl kind of noise coming from the trans. And it wasn't a consistent noise, only heard it on occasion and always when shutting down. Didn't concern me to much figured it was linkage adjustment which I'm sure is needed. Then went to start her recently, and as I turned the starter, she would growl and move forward. THis while depressing the shift pedal. It sounded kind of ugly so I'm wondering whether I messed up bad by ignoring the initial noise, or do I just need a major shifter/linkage adjustment. Any idea what is causing the noise?? BTW, I changed the trans fluid and filter less than 50 hours ago. The old fluid was fairly clean, no gunge or metal shavings etc in it. Thanks for any suggestions.

Neutral is out of adjustment. The tractor is trying to move because the linkage isn't in the neutral position when the lever and brake pedal are. The adjustment procedure is in the service manual.
