I’ve watched the boys play games a lot. If I had to choose between a game console and their phone, I pick the game console.
The game will only let them do so much.
Social media has no limits. They have shown me stuff on there that’s really bad.
Teach them right from wrong, to be be polite and respectful and they will make good decisions. Bring a tyrant and keeping them under your thumb will make them resent you and act out when you aren’t around.

I really didn't expect this to turn into a debate but I guess I should have given the track record with this crowd. I don't have an issue with my son playing games but I don't let him do it 24/7 and the games I do let him play have alot of problem solving in them which helps his brain work, he also plays Minecraft and I'm really impressed with his imagination when he shows me some of the things he builds. As for me, I'm an adult and if I don't have anything else to do and want to kill some zombies I'm gonna!

I agree with the withdrawal thing, and I have something else to add. My cousins used to not even know what an Ipad was just 3 years ago, now every reunion is literally just them playing some stupid game on Ipads and Iphones for 5 or 6 hours. They cry when their electronics are taken away (which is rare, because the parents have 0 discipline), and they cry and scream until they get their precious Ipad back.

The parents, however, are a completely different story.
At a reunion, if you have a ball, you know it's getting taken from you and given to one of those brats because "Oh, IT'S MY BALL!" and their parents are like: "Oh, give them a turn you've been playing for a bit too long."
And everything the kids do is someone else's fault. Example:
Two of my cousins were left alone in the car with the handbrake on on a sloped driveway, middle cousin, who has no ability to sit still, stood on the handbrake, and the car rolled forward, hit their other car, crashed through the fence, and destroyed the swimming pool. Obviously it was the oldest cousin's fault for not putting on the handbrake! She still has to work to pay off the damages, because instead of fix the cars, they bought 2 brand new SUVs and a brand new truck! But, uh, WHY?!

Sorry for the paragraph, I hate my cousins so much.

Oh, and they also take their 11 kids and go on 7+ vacations a year (on average)! Talk about a waste of money, right?

I think my favorite besides the Uncharted series was zombie killing. Maybe it was the aim assist. I don’t remember which one was nazi zombies in the movie theater but I’ve spent many a nite ridding that theater of its pests. The one on the moon was ok too. Been awhile so I can’t remember which one was with which game.
If you think Minecraft costs as you go then let me tell you of the ridiculousness of fortnite. None of the money you spend makes any better guns or makes you faster. It’s just the crazy outfits you get. Like there is a John Wick costume and you get an axe with a pencil for the head. Does the same damage as the regular one. Boys have to earn their own money for that.

I spent a few hours last night playing farm simulator, after you figure out the ridiculous amount of controls it's really fun. I was harvesting corn and wheat like a pro by the time I went to bed. I watched a few videos of the newer version and it looks like they have lawn mowers and all sorts of stuff to do while you wait for the crops to grow. I also bought some chickens so now I can sell eggs, maybe tonight I will build a fence and buy a couple cows.

I'm imagining the look on Jon's face while he reads this.
