I have replaced the Cub 2 turn worms in 123 and 129 with JD 3 turn worms from 212/214/216 - much better steering - more turns but lots less effort. Shafts are about one inch longer so wheel is raised that much. Other JD worms have shorter shafts (300 series) and the 112 series look different from the outside - have not seen one apart.
I put pics on the other Cub site but they have crasned and Idon't know if my post was lost. Big point made in other posts here is the bent spindles - the front wheels need positive camber - they should tilt out about 1/2 inch at the top. Check the manual for this. And reshape the worm follower. Also - I bored the steering housing and fitted flanged bushings to remove the wear in the pivot bolt/housing fit. |

$7.53 plus a buck and a half for a nut, while the rest of the bag sets on the shelf waiting to be sold, then add in a 47 mile round trip to pick them up. Then buy padded envelopes to ship them in, plus more gas to the Post Office and back. I figure, at selling them for 10 bucks a set, by the time I pay the pay pal fees, package them, and get them to the Post Office, I'm losing about 4 dollars every time I sell one. I really don't think you or anyone else can gather these parts up and get them to your front door for less than $10.00 That's the way I come up with my prices... Thanks for asking.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
