Maybe somebody here can help with the identification of this tractor. There are no decals or markings anywhere to be seen. It has obviously been repainted and well cared for. To set things straight; it is not mine. It belongs to "Bob" who replaced the monster cast iron Briggs with a newer one.
I bought the original cast iron Briggs from him which I intend to use on a cordwood saw. Also...the Briggs has no decals or numbers. There appears to have been a sticker on the blower cover, but that sticker has been removed. Maybe someone knows the model? Thanks, Paul |

Not 100% sure what model it is. It's a MTD tractor. Possibly a 960 or a 10 Hundred. I had one a few yrs ago that ended up in the scrap yard. Mine was a 10 Hundred and was beat on real bad and to much stuff was missing to resurrect.

Wow! Thanks guys. I can probably plug in those two model numbers to get info on the Briggs engine. Thanks again, I really appreciate the help.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
