450 snowblower gear ratio
Can someone tell me how to figure out if i have a 450 or 451 snowblower. The guy i bought it from said its a 450 but i had never seen a yellow 450. It has no stickers on it. Any help would be appreciated. I am mounting on a 682
|

450, and 551 both have 15 & 28 tooth gears = 1.86:1 ratio.
451 has 12 & 31 teeth = 2.58:1 ratio Although the 450, and 551 have different size PTO pulleys on the gear box. 551 being larger. You have to turn the PTO pulley, and count the revolutions of the fan shaft.
