Default Help identifying WF mule drive tension spring

this spring on the right came in the package, correct spring (same number ) is what came off the mule drive ( left spring). What is the other mirror image spring for ? I believe that is the correct part number but spring was backwards, just to clarify my question. Part number if you cannot read it is IH-59691-C2
Any thoughts. Fits my 75 1650 with 44a deck.

thnks

The IH-59691-C2 is the correct spring for the 44A mule drive, to apply tension to the LH (facing mule drive) Idler Pulley. See item #5.

Roland, I understand the correct part number, but the new spring in the package was the opposite wind from the one that was originally there. I did get the correct wound one later, wanting to know what the other wound opposite spring could be for....or was it a packaging mistake ??

I have no clue cause, there is only ONE Idler Spring for that Mule Drive.

IF, you have an additional Part Number, I am curious to know what it is.

I had the same experience about a year ago, bought a spring from an ebay vendor by the correct part number and in a genuine cc package that was wound the wrong direction ,returned the spring and got a refund ! Don't know what it fit ,but not a wide frame mule drive ! Can't remember the vendor but I think it was out of Va somewhere .

It also depends on the serial number break. S/N 65,458 to 400,000 uses the IH-106499-C1 which is NLA and S/N 400,001 to 665,000 IH-59691-C2 which you can still get.

Thanks for the input, I had purchased the spring from Marlin at IHCCW and he was gracious to send me a replacement spring right away ( NOS but not in package), was just helping him trying to figure out what the wrong way spring was for as he has a few sealed in the original CC package with correct part number but wrong spring.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
