Parts available and prices listed with sponsors above. Good way to replace is have someone else do it. If you cant do that then just try to not bust your knuckles up too badly.

While this isn't going to be helpful, I've done this a handful of times over the years the first time as a"kid" before the internet and the Youtube,
. Its not the worst job out there at all.

yup. done it a few times myself. if you need couplers or a new shaft (more likely than not you will) check with Parts by Jeff on those, he makes them and they are better than what was issued with these machines from new.

Giddy, go to the Technical Library-Tractors, first page. There's a great tutorial by member 'Merk'.
It's an easy job.

I put a clutch in my 1000 back in 2016. This was the first clutch since it was sold new in 1977.
I highly recommend a new driveshaft from Jeff in PA. I sent him the original shaft from my tractor and he made an equivelent replacement. The original shaft had steps worn in it that would have made it impossible for the pressure plate to move. I have a couple of threads that discuss my clutch replacement: https://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/...ad.php?t=39129 https://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/...ad.php?t=43135 If you have any questions post on this board. I learned a lot here. Bob |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
