Default Is this worth saving from the dump?

Found this in the scrap metal pile at the dump, I pulled it off to the side. 8hp Briggs turns free, has battery in it from 2009. What are your thoughts. I don't need it but don't want it to get scrapped either. The operator there said I could take it.

To an Allis person it probably is. Think of it this way; Allis Chalmers Tractors aren't made anymore. It wouldn't be much different than a non CC person saving a CC I suppose we'd go crazy and be glad they saved it. Don't want it, post it on marketplace and/or an Allis page. I'm sure someone can do something with it.

Ditto. There is always swap meets to sell it or parts of it at, CL, Fleabay, maybe even an Allis Chalmers enthusiast web page (similar to this one). You might be able to trade it for something you want/need? As long as you have space for it, then you can't beat the four letter F-word for price!!! "FREE"!!

I would think that old allis is a lot more rare than cub/deere.
You just might get another virgin added to the list awaiting you on Venus for saving it

My Uncle would love to have that for parts on his machines.
Where is it?
He's also in MO.

Those little Simple/AC lawn tractors were over built and very durable. I have repaired many of those cuties and, when the mower deck is set up correctly, will mow grass flawlessly. BTW, the rear axle pivots (including the seat platform)....makes for an interesting ride. Please rescue it!

Thanks Riley.
He is in FL right now at the big Flywheeler show and will be home next week sometime.

If you want, I can call him and see, then give you his phone # as he will be coming back up out of Memphis I assume on his way home to O'Fallon. Or you can PM me yours and I'll pass it along.

He has several AC's and one like the one you have I believe that needs some stuff.
If I am not mistaken, it's the one with the seized up rear end that is giving him fits.
What model AC is it? Could not tell from the picture.

Dave

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
