Any advice on balancing a cub cadet 5 star hole blade. This 5 star hole is unique to cub cadet newer mowers. These blades will not balance correctly on a standard cone shaped balancing tool.

This design is common with "Craftsman" legacy design. I don't have any tips, but mayge check under some Craftsman discussion groups. I think it's also now common with Huskvarna.
Must be due to common acquisition(s) of the brands. |

They do make a balancer for those blades. Google it.

The 5 star blade your speaking of is not unique to cub cadet. MTD has been making them for many years for lots of different machines. Try to google MTD blade balance tool...
You could try to make an adapter to place in the 5 star hole to make it round.

I've never balanced a blade in my life and never had an issue with any seals or bearings. Does it make a difference and do you guys do it?

I balance all mine. Blades I've never sharpened before are often too far out to use as is. How far is too far? I don't like vibrations.

If the blade is older and has been sharpened several times Ill stick it on the balancer. Ive found a few that were really off.. I have also noticed a difference more than once after sharpening and balancing. Most of the time it comes down to vibration being noticeably less. For the time it takes to do since your sharpening anyway. I feel its worth it.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
