Are the rear bolts tight? I just bought a 2082 that was leaking at one of 90 degree bends at the pump output. The rear bolts were loose and this cause the line to fail.

Check to see if the "0" rings on the 90 degree fittings that thread into the case are damaged...this could be the source of the leak...

I've fixed several. This is often caused by the hydro bolts coming loose at the frame and letting the transmission move up/down. Causes flare fractures. I changed the line on my first one. Re-flared existing lines on the next two.
This may or may not apply to your situation but yours sounds the same as mine. This sometimes lets the cooling fan hit the lines. |

Just got done fixing an oil leak on a 1641, turned out to be the relief valve. This is the second 1641 that I've seen leaking from this valve. New O-ring and all good.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
