Default 3000 Series serial number location

Bought a 3000 can’t find the serial number. It’s not under the seat or on the frame where I can see it. I was told it is a mid 90s machine. It has a 23 horse Kohler Command, shaft drive, cast iron differential, differential lock. That’s about the extent of what I know about it so far. Would like to have the numbers so I can go shopping for manuals. Any help would be appreciated.

Model/serial number tag should be on right frame below right side engine bay cover. Based on your info and the attached link for the spec sheets it would have to be a 2001 or 2002 3235.

Thanks for the reply. I’ll look again, maybe it’s on the bottom of the frame.

I found a sticker on the right rear of the differential.

Would these numbers pertain to the tractor or just the differential..? Sorry for the dumb questions.

I would say that you have a 3235 built in 2001.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
