Brinly rear blade modifications
Recently acquired a Brinly rear blade in hopes of resurfacing my gravel driveway. It had a slight bend in one lower corner where the PO must have caught something solid. After straightening that corner I welded on some end plates to help strengthen the blade ends and also provide an attachment point for a scarifier bar. This bar will hopefully loosen up the top gravel surface enough to allow the redistribution of material back to the driveway travel path with the blade. The bar can be easily removed or can be pivoted and locked in an up position to quickly provide for final grading using the blade only. Initial use will undoubtedly uncover some needed adjustments/changes. Here's a few progress pics: 1) Scarifier bar construction, 2) finished bare blade, 3) blade with scarifier bar attached, 4) blade assy fitted to my newly built sleeve hitch.
