1641's are great machines. A little TLC and they will go a long way.

Thanks ya'll, I got tinkering around with it last night & got it to run off of bottle feeding the card. I cleaned the carb & the gas solenoid & blowed out the pulse pump(carb was full of watered down old gas). Still not getting gas to carb so I'm gona replace the pulse pump, that gas solenoid & go from there. Unless y'all have any tricks for them.

One of the first things I would do is put a front bumper on it. If you happen to run it into a tree (like many apparently have done) you get to replace about $1000 worth of plastic.

Take the fuel line loose from the inlet side of the pump and let it hang lower than the gas tank. Gas should run out. If it doesn't, it's likely either your right/left fuel shut offs are turned off or the filter in them is stopped up.

In any case, if you had water in the carburetor you likely have it in the tank as well.

You can take the top off the carburetor, turn the key switch off/on and see if your fuel solenoid is retracting back out of the main jet.

Check your vacuum hose to valve cover integrityfor cracks or leaks.

I forgot to add, they are great tractors, especially with the 48" deck.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
