Default IH CC 782 Rear Wheels Jack Points

Good evening,

I have replaced the front tires and had the front wheels powder coated. They look good.

Now, I need to replace the tires and have the rear wheels powder coated. The powder coating has a 48-hour turnaround time. I will need to jack up the rear end and leave it jacked up for several days.

Where should I place the jack for the rear wheels? I have a scissor jack ad a bottle jack I can use.

Should I replace with a turf tire (that is what is on the 782) or an agricultural tire (barbed tread)? I am leaning toward the barbed tread.

Thank you.

regarding tires...If your going to be mowing with the 782 go with the stock turf tires..The others could dig up the lawn a little. Just my preference..

There several places in the rear end to jack the tractor up. I often use the drawbar then place wooded cribbing under each axle housing.

I disagree. I have used Ag Tires on my 782 for over 10+ yrs. They provide excellent traction. With Ag tires one does not get the "turf burn" as from turf tires when they slip. BUT..... to each his own preference.

I've been mowing with a lawn/garden tractor since 1966 and the only time I have ever damaged the lawn was with turf tire's slipping, never with ag tires. I'm getting ready to replace the rears on my 782 and they will again be ag tires.

Dad's had firestone AGS on his 125 for 36+ years. I've put them on my 147 a few years ago. Never had an issue with them tearing up the lawn save for the few times I was being a dink and throttling the hydro lever around as a kid intentionally digging holes while driving.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
