Not currently, prior to recent events the PTO has responded to the switch like it should.

With the tractor turned off, mark where the actuator arm is and check to see if there is tension on the PTO belts. The belts should be loose with the engine off.
Does the deck engage when the tractor is started or do you have to pull the PTO switch?

Alright, I have checked a couple of items that you guys suggested.
1) If I pull the vacuum line off of the actuator (mower running/PTO engaged), the rod doesn't really move. Maybe the baffle isn't happy with my rebuild.. 2)The front belt is pretty loose I can slip the belt by hand, the rear belt is a little tighter (but I can't slip the belt.) Both belts appear to have a fair amount of deflection. |

If you pull the vacuum line off the plunger should come back out. Did you get the diaphragm back into the groove and not poke a hole in it. Do you think you got some rtv inside that is causing the plunger to stick and not to come back out. Only thing I can think of.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
