I actually just checked all the sponsers and sent an email.
I just bought a spare intake, carb and all the fixins off ebay. Looks to be painted black and original, and all the springs were there. I know that it is no gaurnetee, but I though, why not!!! |

Yea, that's a good deal. Probably cost him $25 to ship it.

That looks to be the good adjustable carb.
Hopefully the carb is in good shape. |

Is this a Walbro? It appears to be original. Honestly, the tractor sat for 15+ years, I added fuel, got it to flow past the inline filter and it literally fired right up!

The Walbro is the junky one. That would be a Carter #26.

Thank you! Never knew, Is the Carter Carburator marked in a way? I have just purchased a second carb that I am thinking of rebuilding.
Here is what I noticed.. I replaced the Governor spring. All is well, but before, and after the spring replacement, I feet that the the throttle control goes from zero to hero in the first 1" of travel. Meaning, from about 1" and UP, there is zero change in engine speed the higher you lift the throttle. Does that make sense? |

The Walbro is clearly marked, and only has adjustment for idle. They are a fixed main jet. The Carter and clones have idle mixture and high speed mixture adjustments such as this one.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
