Default 7000 series 22 HP locked up
My XT1 with the 7000 series 22 HP Kohler started making a SLIGHT scraping noise (like something small was rubbing on a pulley below). When I shut it off I knew I was in trouble as it stopped spinning WAY too fast. The motor is now locked up; it won't turn by hand or with the starter. Any clues from the Pros? The engine has less then 200 hours on it.

Is it still under warranty? otherwise check the pto it may have seized up.

Ready for this one? The starter was jammed on the flywheel! Machine is about 8 years old so no warranty. Hope this thread helps someone because I've never heard of this one.

Ya for sure. So simple I would have wasted a lot of time looking for something internal. Dealer had it fixed and returned in one day. Granz in Salem NH. I would recommend them to anyone.
