I will miss Roland's steady hand at the helm of this forum, and his helpful nature to all who needed assistance .

Well, that's sad news...... I hadn't been on the forum for quite awhile...... May God comfort his family.
He was always a tremendous help to me.

I know it's been over a year since Roland passed, but my wife and I were recently talking about how vintage cars and other equipment don't have many people left who know how to fix/maintain them. Everything is disposable these days, and it's very sad. I'm glad for places like this where those with knowledge can pass on what they know to those of us who care to learn. As much of an @$$ that Roland and George and the others can be at times, I'd take their attitude any day if it means I get their knowledge as well lol. Thanks guys, we'll pass it on best we can and keep this lost knowledge going as long as we can!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
