Default 1641 Mower deck and mule drive with frame wanted

I have a nice 1641 (14A-653-100) that I bought with a snow thrower but no deck. If anyone has a 48GT (190-317-100) or 44GT (190-318-100) deck in good condition that is no longer needed at a reasonable price I would be interested in purchasing it. I will also be needing the mule drive and support bracket for the deck.

I live about 50 miles east of Niagara Falls in New York State. If you have a deck to sell but are some distance away, perhaps delivery could be done by Fastenal.
I have had good luck with them in the past and they are reasonable.

Thanks!

Default 1641 Mower Deck and Mule Drive...

I had the pleasure of picking up a 48" 317 deck and meeting with a special lady known as "Delta Cub" in Kingsville Ohio last weekend. Beth was very patient due to some of my health problems earlier in the year and was willing to wait for me to pick the deck up when I felt better. It looked to be in good condition for it's age and I was very happy to get it!

She agreed to meet me part way to make my trip a little shorter too. We had a nice lunch together at a nearby restaurant and as it turned out, the weather was beautiful and the roads weren't too busy. All and all a great day!

Beth is probably the most knowledgeable Cub Cadet aficionado I have ever met. Growing up with a tractor Dad, she learned so much from him and gained a lot of knowledge from their shared experiences looking at and working on Cubs over the years, not to mention her professional experiences working on tractors at dealerships! Her many posts provide much information for Cub owners to glean information to satisfy their own thirst for knowledge about Cubs.

There are many wonderful people on the Only Cub Cadets website and I must say that Beth (Delta Cub) is at the top of the list when it comes to being so friendly and personable...and knowledgeable! She really went out of her way to help me with the mower deck I have been looking to find for years to go on my 1641. What a great lady!!

I so appreciate her kindness and willingness to help a fellow member! Thanks so much!!! "Queen of the Quietlines"

Although I never had the pleasure to meet her personally, we have had many conversations via telephone, and indeed she not only versed on Cubs, but also a lot of industrial/agricultural/life experiences.
I don't know of another lady with that knowledge base.
She is a cool breeze on a hot day compared to today's world of "Karens" and
"entitled" people.
Now I'll stop there before she gets embarrassed.

It was so nice to meet Gary and his son. I have met some wonderful and interesting members on this forum. We were discussing restorations of tractors and other items. He shared how he restored high end string instruments such as violins and cellos. I found that topic absolutely fascinating. Proper repair and handling are so important to insure the instrument's sound quality. Anyways, the mower deck that he purchased to restore will be better than new! Looking forward to pictures! Thanks again Gary.

Beth

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
