Default No movement on my GTX 2100

I have a 2013 GTX 2100 that recently quit working, and I need help diagnosing the problem.

I was just starting to mow, made a turn, backed up, and went to go forward and had no movement. Sounds like the hydro is trying to run, just no movement.

I can push the mower with the brake on or off, WTH?

I checked the release valve in the rear, and it seems to be out where it should be, but I can still push the mower with the brake on or off.

Mower has 667 hours on it; upkeep and meticulous maintenance has been done since I bought this new in 2014.

This happened all of the sudden too, no slippage, no warning, running fine then just quit!

Suggestions?

Did you check your driveshaft? Are these the ones with the barrels in them?

Release rod should be in to run, out to push.

Yes it had the barrels but it wasn't the drive shaft. Something in the hydro, pump, or differential, release valve seems to be functioning.

I got the rear end out about an hour ago, had enough for today, I'lll check it out this coming week.

Probably a broken gerotor. That's a pretty common issue on the 3000 series machines.

Here is a gerotor repair he did on a 3205 a few years back.

Seems like that could be a very good possibility from the initial symptom of how it suddenly quit with zero warning.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
