These are getting pretty rare.

Complete with the actuator it is worth 500-600 during peak season. I have one that I use occasionally. Stout little tillers. Fits early 2000/2500 series. Would probably fit later 2000/XT3 with some slight mods

I agree, it seems like the buyers are rare too.

That's because no one gardens any more to speak of like they did in years past.

People still garden, but they're using bigger machines, i.e., subcompact tractors, in place of that standard or super garden tractor.

When I was a kid, back in the 50's, just about every vacant lot in this small town (600 Pop.) was either a garden, or if much bigger say like a whole block or so, was a small hay field, corn or soybean plot or fenced w/livestock on them.

I used a neighbor's old AC tractor to plow many of them back in the day. That is until he sold it and my Dad got an old David Bradley walk behind with a sickle mower, cultivator, one bottom plow and a snow blade. I used the heck out of that rig including letting it pull me uptown on my ice skates to the rink to push the snow off after a storm!

Now, most of these formerly vacant properties either have newer houses on them or are still vacant grassy plots, some of them, still a block or more square. The city, the the following years, had banned livestock within the city limits, and maybe even hay or other farm crops by now for all I know.

I can point to only 3, maybe 4 folks in this whole town now, not counting my son and I, that have decent size gardens. I know, because I usually till them in the spring. They're a few others, but they are TINY, just big enough for a few tomato plants is all and some of them are raised beds, hardly a garden as we used to be familiar with.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
