Default Cub Cadet 282

Hope everyone has had a great year so far...been ages since I've been on here but I had a little 282 come into my workshop for some repairs and well I'm stuck. The mower deck was in pieces, spindles apart, etc.. but I have it together now I just don't know how the deck belt is routed and sadly I can't find anything online about it.

Thanks so much! I figured it went that way but wasn't totally sure. Now to find the right size belt since a 68in is way too big

The diagram was a great help now I'm having an issue finding a belt. IH calls for a 1/2x68 and thats too big but a 67 is too tight any help? Also Im limited by where I can order from at work because its not my mower

Sounds like something is wrong with the motor location or pulley size somewhere then.

I don't think you can readily get 1/2" increments. Could try another brand like a Dayco 4L67/8 belt.

The cub belt IH-132407-C1 is 1/2 X 68 3/4 As noted by Farmall450, there may be an issue with the pulley size

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
