Default 1541 hydro oil fill question

While attempting to fill the hydro fluid both with a funnel then tried the electric pump the small fill tube burps and blows fluid up and it eventually ends up on the garage floor. There must be a way to accomplish filling without getting a lot of fluid all over the floor and I would appreciate any tips from you experienced folks. Thanks

Use a small funnel and fill very slow,
I hate changing fluid in any of the Cyclops, as it is such a slow process to refill.

You can buy a funnel like this but I just insert a rubber tube down the center of the funnel.
It has to be small enough to let the liquid run past it and large enough to let the air in the case escape.

Thanks for the tips....that worked....BUT, I had a small plastic tube jammed into the funnel that would fit into the fluid fill and when I pulled the funnel out the tube went into the transmission.....Not a good situation....PITA!!!!

Late machines have a vent on the top of the case. On older machines when I have access to the top of the case at the rear I drill and tap a hole for a vent. Pics of both the early style with my vent and the late factory vent.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
