Using my 1641 yesterday to pull 2 trailer loads of limbs to the burning pile. I noticed oil on the right side of the engine. Looks like I have developed a pretty bad leak at the valve cover. Oil was down to the add mark so I put some more in it to be able to finish the last load. My Cubs are beaters but I do need to pressure wash the oil off of it and fix the leak.

Wanted to wait until after Thanksgiving but also didn't want to have to dig out the pumpkins AGAIN this year. So picked up the Halloween pumpkins around the property and dumped them in a small area of the property.
About 30 pumpkins..

I bought this thing in 2014 and when I got it it was more like "Miss Abused". Here's the thread on it.

It's my go to tractor for pulling trailers around and limbs to the brush pile. I have the 48 inch deck for it but haven't used it to mow in a few years.

Default What did you do with your Cub Today?

Cannon51...you did a commendable job rescuing that 1641. Everyone would agree that "Miss Abused" earned the title!

As the new owner now, I'm glad to see she is being treated by you with a little more respect! Most Cub fans are glad for kind people like you...a big thank you from all of us!!

I put a new battery in the 1863 yesterday. It hadn't been cranked since early last year and didn't want to start so I removed the air filter cover, dropped the knob that holds it on and sprayed some carb cleaner in the carb to get it started. I removed the side cover looking for the knob and broke the tit off that goes in the grill. I haven't found the knob yet. My old hands don't seem to want to hold on to anything.

I looked for the knob about 15 minutes yesterday and gave up. Today I went back there to get something and looked down and saw it. It had to be somewhere.

Over the weekend I bagged some leaves that were left from last year, and mowed the couple patches of grass that are starting to grow.

Mowed some water with the 1914 and it's newly fitted 54 GT deck.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
