So much better!!!

Over the last week I took apart my QA42A, sanded the auger, housing and chute and repainted it with EZ slide. I then mounted it on my 149 and waited for snow. Today was my first opportunity to use it. We got 5 inches of very light, fluffy snow, so I gave it a try. It works so much better than before. Previously, even with a dry snow, the snow would accumulate on the rusty areas of my housing, auger and chute and the thrower would plug up. Now, I had no such problem. I even took it off roading in my yard, where we had about 3 inches of hard, packed snow prior to the light, fluffy snow, and it just ate it up and spit it out! Cleaning my driveway with the 149 and snowthrower went much faster than it usually does with my Farmall Cub and snow plow. It does a cleaner job also. The only problem I still have is that the 149 needs the trunion repaired. When I move the hydro lever it takes a little bit to catch up to the movement and by then I may be going faster than I wanted. It also does a very poor job of maintaining speed on a hill, to the point that I will either come to a stop, or I have to constantly adjust the hydro lever. Anyway, my point was that the 149 and newly painted QA42A did a great job! I'll be curious to see how it does with a wetter snow. I took photos of my tractor after the fact...my wife doesn't do cold, or early mornings, so I had no one to take action shots or videos! Hope you all enjoyed the snow as much as I did.

Glad to hear its working better for you Jason! I painted the inside of my old qa42a that I sold a while back, and it made a world of difference. I had to re-apply some mid season as it tends to wear off with use, but man what a difference.

I'm tempted to paint the plow surface of my 54" plow with ez-slide....but something about the black..I wonder if it can be found in other colors, or tintable?

Used E Z Slide,(3 coats each attachment), on 42 & 54" blades and the QA36A chute. Snow still sticks to the blades. Haven't tried the snowthrower yet.

I sprayed multiple coats of slip plate on my plow truck blade. The snow does still stick as much as bare steel. To do it over again I would use reg. paint with multiple coats of clear coat with wax. I think that would work better.
