but it would be interesting what the owner did with 2 manual lift levers. My little girl loves levers and anything that moves... would have a great time with 2...

Sminkey.. Nope didn't mind you posting the photo... I had an idea you didn't know where it came from. I'll search my photo files and see if I can come up with some more photo's. I also have a Brinly sleeve hitch adaptor on it and a "spiffed up" Brinly 8" turning plow that goes with it. While not shown on the site, the 38" square mowing deck was also restored at the same time as the tractor and is also like new again. I have a NF dirt (snow) blade mounted on a Model 70 that would probably fit if I got motivated to do such, but the ole girl, though fully restored, is now a "trailer queen" and for show only. I have another Original, fully "rehabilitated", and is my Original "worker bee" when I get the itch to use one... I now mow mostly with my 782D.
William: As I noted, the Original in the photo was originally sold in Iowa. The second handle was, in fact, used for a front mounted snow blade according to the son. The original buyer (1st owner) was employed in Iowa and was subsequently transferred by his company to Texas. On his death, the tractor was inherited by his son (2d owner - still in Texas near Austin) who used it to mow grass. When the engine threw a rod, he put it up for sale & I purchased it, not knowing about the double lift handles till I picked it up. That's when I found out about the snow blade (which apparently was long gone by then - the son didn't have it and it surely wasn't needed in central Texas).

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
