The PO did the paint work but I forgot to ask him how long ago. He did a really nice job on it. There are a couple blem's in it but nothing big at all, you have to look pretty close to see them. He did repaint the wheels and deck with the cub cadet beige so I'm going to repaint them at some point.

Instead of switching to a 3/4" spindle, you can always narrow the rim. Most of the time when you see narrow tri-ribs on 82 series tractors, the front rims have been narrowed. A friend on mine did a set and he said it was pretty simple. I've also head of people using narrow 3/4" spindle rims with a bushing and using them on the 1" spindles. Seems like it would be a easy way to do it, but I would be concered about the wear to the spindle, but i guess spindles are cheap and easy to find.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
