The gentleman that purchased that fine machine lived in Genoa N.Y. about 10mi from Moravia. She spent her whole life on the farm mowing all the farm property's. That fine little girl has spent her whole life parked in the barn when not in use. I think that is why the steering wheel and center cap are in such fine condition. Original owner passed on in the early 2000's and his son acquired her and mowed with it for a couple more years.
She got to the point were her heart was tired and parked in the barn half covered up. Thank God in was the back half from the steering column back. The hood was covered in pigeon poop when I acquired her in 2008. I paid a little over a 100 dollar bill for it. Pulled the motor and let my friends son rebuild it for me. He was in BOCES small engine class and needed a project for class. I used it very little after the motor was done. Mowed the yard a couple times and me and the grand son rode it around in the woods a little. And now Teet owns the old girl and a 122 and I have a nice shiny red 682. She has been put in good hands now. Take care of the old girl Jeff. Hope I didn't bore everyone.
Thanks again Kelly, and thanks for some more snipets of the history. Its always really cool to know where an old girl like this spent her life. If the dealer is still in business, I'll have to swing out to Moravia for a visit...I have a feeling its most likely not though. Shes in great hands and I hope to add to the history of it down the road. Shes not leaving here for quite some time

I'm never bored when it comes to Cub history either Ya know I'm not sure about the yellow stripe. It doesnt look to be repainted yellow, as the banding wraps underneath, and is yellow even under there....not really sure? Maybe its a super duper, rare, one of a kind, anivesary edition seat..lol With my luck, its just a fluke.

Thanks again fellas

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
