I've moaned about my local CC dealer a few times before, but today they finally got all over me. This isn't a dedicated CC dealer, they sale Gravely, Stihl, DR, and CC, which they primarily sell Stihl... My "dealer" until a couple years ago didn't even realize IH made CC.
So I go in and ask for a couple gasket covers for my 127 and O (since I finally got some Hy-tran) and a transmission filter. After a few minutes the girl finally says "we can't get them.... they are NLA". I was somewhat aggravated at this point and said that I know they still make them, I'm just trying to spend some money locally. Then the owner comes over and gets on the computer and takes a few minutes, he finally says "ya, we can get them... $45 each." I look at him and look at the computer and notice he's on partstree.com and the gaskets are $16/each! Unbelievable.....

Gary, go to autozone get a roll of gasket material, it's 5 bucks for roll and just make your own. That's what I do. Even if you find them at the dealer they are still like 12 bucks each. I can make a lot of them for 12 bucks.

Gary, another tip to go along with Jr's is to use a spent shell case (.38 or 9mm) to punch out the holes. It works great!

I can do both.... You are talking about the felt type gasket, not the liquid, right? I just can't believe the nerve of looking up the part from a website that's readily available to the public and not even acting like it was a dealer site or anything. I worked retail all through college and our company had the motto of being upfront with people and if you could get it cheaper on the web by a good bit we would tell them "hey..."

Yep it's the felt type. Just go into autozone, or the farm store they both will have it. It come's in a roll, I think it's just called gasket material. they have the felt type and cork to. I have been getting mine at TSC it's a little cheaper than autozone plus I just like to go to TSC better,

I am with these guys, I have started making my own gaskets now. Whenever I go into NAPA I will pick up a roll to have on hand. I have a couple .38 caliber casings some .22 casings, and a couple .45 casings just in case I need different size holes. The .22's work great for the points cover gasket

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
