Bill -- It looks like you had a full night when you went to your races. Those "limited modifieds", although on a smaller scale, sounds "build wise" like 50.5" modified pulling engines. They have to strap the heads of those as well.

Our twins are stock block, "stock appearing" heads, and 45.5 cubic inch max. It used to be 44 ci until this year. Unlimited internals. The carb is limited to 1.2" venturi. A re-cast version of the Kohler k-series boat carb.

I was afraid of burning valves, so I always went conservative on the "lean is mean" thought.

While looking at the NGK website yesterday and it looks like I can only move-up 1 heat range in my particular plug, (8-7). Thanks again for the info.

I don't know too much about it. Got that info from "Brian Miller's Tips and Tricks" for garden tractor pulling. Pretty good reading depending on who you talk to.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
