Well, after an hour or so of resetting the trap and several trips to the kids room to listen for cage noise, I made a third trip in to check and, what's this, I here what sounds like cage rattle. Up to the attic, I sure am glad I have tall roof and plenty of room to get to the corner where they set up camp, and there He is, Ha Ha Ha Ha!!! In the cage sits, what I think is the last of the intruders. Smaller than the others, crafty little sucker too, so I guess that's why he didn't trip the door on the trap. Feisty son of a gun, don't think He took to kindly to the cage, sure liked that free food though. But you know what they say, nothings free. So after "disposing of properly" and a little clean up of the cage, I am hoping that this is the last of the squatters. Reset the trap just to make sure. I have a couple of Bradford pear trees, hate them, between the neighbor and me that are touching the edge of the roof so Mr Squirrel had a super highway to get on the house. Didn't want to trim it till I knew I had all the little thugs taken care of, I didn't want them to find another way up to the roof, so if I don't hear anything or catch another in a couple of days I will let the stihl do the talkin on the pear trees to get the limbs off the roof. They need to go anyway, but this just gives me more reason to make some chips and smell some 2 stroke smoke. Hope this is the last of the squirrel updates, but with these crafty little suckers you never know. Good by for now,

Mr Squirrel!!!! Randi

I had a problem with them in this house in the past. The boogers would scurry up to a roof vent and had chewed the darn wire mesh through to get in, then started nesting up in the attic. They drug all sorts of straw and BS up there, when I found it I about had a stroke, one stray spark and the whole place would be gone. I replaced the roof vents, and the roof for that matter. Then I started hearing something crawling through one of the walls. Looked into it further in the basement and found out they had a couple ways in, from the roof and at the ground floor. I used cement to patch the wood they had chewed through. I still gotta get up there and clean out that straw. I'm not really looking forward to that.

Dang things are just rats with fur, I don't have a problem with um as long as they stay outside. Their teeth grow like rats and they have to chew to wear them down, so chewing into a house is nothin for the furry rats. As long as they don't get in they will usually stay away, but after they find the warm house, and they like insulation, they will keep coming back. If you catch and move them away, they either come back or find another building/house to make camp in. So after they get in, there is really only one option, trap and dispose of properly, and after you chase them for a while in your house this is no trouble. I haven't heard any noise since getting the two on Monday, so if it clears up today the tree interstate beside the house will be trimmed back to discourage any "newbies" from exploring the roof and finding a home that is just right. Cute and furry, ya, right!!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
