Well, I am semi retired...so I now have time for hobbies...Thought I would try my hand at mechanics....fell for a cub cadet 108 fixer upper....as always I paid too much, but so what...it was worth my time to get involved in this new venture...I outfitted my shop with a transition from woodworking to mechanics....then the learning curve, then...the addiction....I was so elated when I got it going, I am the one who got "ignited" Now I am continually hunting for new additions to the "stable" And then too late was warned about 'Yellow fever"...now I need help...mechanically speaking...(wife thinks I need psychiatric help...
I bought a 107 "basket case to restore" Got it going and with a little tweaking here and there am satisfied with my progress...although the learnin curve seems steep..::.my current emerging problem is a leaking hydrostatic tranny and "tight control and creep" Have no clue what to do next to salvage the 107...any advice...thanks for any help..."the fun is found along the journey not just at the end of the road...." |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
