hI all, im new to the site but not new to cub cadets. have been around them my whole life. thats all gpa would buy. i have a Cub cadet 2160. It was gave to me. my problem with it is it wont start. new starter, new battery, new plugs. i had it running but when i let off the clutch i would die. so i put a new clutch safety switch in it and now nothing. what im looking for is a wire diagram so i can trace down all the wire and make sure its all good. next option.... new wiring harness... and hope that would solve the problem.
Thanks for all the help!!!! |

Wish I could help you more, but I'm not a 2000 series expert. It definitely sounds like a wiring, or switch issue perhaps with the switch you replaced or its related wiring. Here is a diagram, hope it helps ![]() Jeff (teet)

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
