Hello. Been looking through past posts on blade installation but i need some clarifications. I have a 102 with deck and a blade. Ive never installed the blade so this is a new endeavor. Ive read a lot about nf blades both qa and bolt on. Ill post my pics this evening after work but the blade subframe has two pins pointed inward that look like they should rest inside a bracket. My front end has no such reciever (holes yes. But nothing that the pins can make it into) im thinking i need a bracket or i have the wrong blade. Like i said, ill be posting pics this evening. Thanks, Corey

Aha. I have that pdf but mine is apparently missing a few pages!
It looks to me then that the blade i have isnt meant for my tractor. Mine is a narrow frame blade but it is for the quick attach setup. So my question would be could i replicate the qa bracket or remove the qa pins from the blade frame and mount it accordingly? |

It all depends on your subframe for your blade. I have seen some subframes that have the QA pins on them and holes for mounting and I have seen some subframes that only have the QA pins on them (though this may have been a PO mod...
) and some that only have the holes in them. If your subframe has holes above the QA pins, then you can attach it and ignore the pins and it should fit, if it only has the pins, then you can drill holes or weld on the QA brackets---which would allow you to use other QA implements in the future as well.Cub Cadet 123

There are some additional brackets that are used to put a QA blade on a tractor with no QA. Unfortunately I don't have a picture but they are just 3/8" x 1" or so pieces of steel about 6" long with 3 holes in them. Make those before you go hacking up your blade and/or tractor. Anybody know what I'm talking about and have a pic?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
