Default 1215 PTO Clutch

I flipped the switch and nothing happens. What could it be? I do hear the relay 'click' but nothing else happens. Please help.

I would say that the Reverse Relay is engaging but the internal contacts are bad.

Would that be the reverse switch that you are speaking about? The switch that engages when the shifter handle is in the reverse position or is there another relay I should be looking for?

NO....

The Reverse Switch and Reverse Relay are two separate and different components.

As a suggest, run a temporary jumper wire between the Red & Black wires on the Reverse Relay, to see if the PTO energizes. Bear in mind, this test is with the tractor running, someone sitting in the seat, tractor in Neutral, and the PTO switch is in the "on" position.

Went home tonight and it worked, I was able to mow what I needed to get together finished and when I was done I turned off the PTO and tried to start it right back up. Did not start. Could the relay do this if it gets hot?

Doubtful....

Something that gets hot and quits is the PTO Clutch itself. Is the "air gap" on the PTO adjusted to within the specification range..??

I'll have to take a look this evening. Is this something that has to be adjusted from time to time?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
